This rain, my God, this rain. I am sitting under a half devastated canopy in my yard un the rain having a beer.

I have lived through earthquakes, brush fires, mud slides, floods - the panoply of California disasters. But I have never been so scared as two years ago when it just didn’t rain.

This winter is glorious.

These posts are confusing. Do you like the rain or hate it?!

Sunchaser.

People are going to talk about the “great rain of 2017" for years. It’s ridiculous how some people react to any sort of “not sunny and 75-85 degrees” weather in SoCal. I mean im just jealous of the paradise there though haha. Shit, you even get better winters too!! Frigging 280inch base at Mammoth, just unfair.

There is something amazing about feeling rain for the first time in months.

I know that feeling. I’m in Austin and we were in a pretty nasty drought for a while, but it broke and the reservoirs and aquifers filled back up and we’re at 100% again. Folks seem to still be conserving water too, even though we currently have “plenty” so that’s good.

It is nice having the rain back again. The creek behind the office building where I work in Concord has been running very high- but still within its banks.

California sure is wierd. I’m just here in northern-ish Alberta with 7 hours of daylight.
